The Journal of Adhesion is dedicated to perpetuating understanding of the phenomenon of adhesion and its practical applications. The art of adhesion is maturing into a science that requires a broad, coordinated interdisciplinary effort to help illuminate its complex nature and numerous manifestations.
The Journal of Adhesion provides the perfect forum for these discussions of the basic and applied problems in adhesion.
Our mission is to help scientists, engineers, and all academic and industrial researchers alike, keep abreast of the most recent developments in the various aspects of adhesion science and technology.
We consider relevant papers on:
- fundamental aspects of adhesion;
- the science and technology of surfaces;
- advances in adhesive materials;
- mechanical properties of bonded joints;
- innovative designs and applications;
- testing and standardization;
- industrial aspects;
- quality procedures;
- environmental and ecological aspects;
- and emerging areas such as bioadhesion.
Papers are considered relevant if they explore how systems of joined materials respond to mechanical or other disruptive influences. Experimental papers are required to incorporate theoretical background, and likewise, theoretical papers must relate to practice.
The Journal of Adhesion also welcomes submissions exploring the fundamental principles and applications of bioadhesion science, particularly in the biomedical field. Topics of interest include:
- adhesive bonding of biomaterials;
- biological adhesives;
- biomimetic adhesive systems;
- biomedical applications such as dentistry, other human parts and animal tissue.
Peer Review Policy All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and if found suitable for further consideration, will be peer-reviewed by independent and anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double anonymized.
