As in other developing countries, community-based rehabilitation (CBR) in China is very important. However, because of differences in the social system, economy, and cultural level, it is impossible to implement a uniform model of CBR. This paper introduces material to show how CBRin China tends to be spontaneous. Experience of CBRstations in Shenyang has initiated a n«w approach to CBRwithin the cultural characteristics of China.
