The Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam,

Fully aware that the Laos-Vietnam special relationship, the unshakeable militant solidarity and friendship between the people of Laos and Vietnam and the great comradeship between the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam, forged over decades of common struggle waged in sharing joys and sorrows to win victory together over the aggressors, and of cooperation and mutual assistance for the purpose of national construction, constitute a precious tradition, an invincible force of the two peoples and parties, a vivid reality, and a law of development of the Laos and Vietnamese revolutions.
