Using Bibliotherapy in Treatment With Children in Residential Care

This paper offers strategies for using bibliotherapy with children in residential care. The bibliotherapeutic approach is presented, useful books for treating a number of childhood problems are offered. Suggested books for bibliotherapy are listed under the following problem areas-Alcohol and Drugs, Anger and Other Emotions, Attitudes and Values, Child Abuse, Family Breakdown, Fear and Fantasy, Peers and School, Self-Image and Sex Roles, Sex Education, and Special Developmental Needs.
