A Replication of a Study Exploring the Utilization of Computer Technology by Social Workers

Preview: [This study replicates earlier research conducted in the mid-1980s on the use and perception of computer technology by social workers. The major findings from both studies report; (a) social workers have a limited understanding of computer technology; (b) computer technology is underutilized by social workers; (c) social workers has little or not training in computer technology from the professional social work curriculum; and (d) social workers receive little or no in-service training in computer technology. The implications of these finding for social work practice are offered.
