Bibliotherapy: Using books to help children deal with problems

This article presents the bibliotherapeutic approach as a clinical strategy for working with children. The article offers an overview of bibliotherapy, how the approach can be used in treatment, and recommended books for treating various problems facing children. The authors emphasize that the research on the effectiveness of bibliotherapy is inconclusive and that the bibliotherapeutic technique should only be utilized as an adjunctive therapy.
