Hybrid open access journals with gold open access option – currently encompassing most titles published

You can choose to publish in a subscription journal and pay a charge to make your article freely available online upon publication via our Open Select program. The majority of our journals offer this option – those that do have the Open Select logo on the journal’s home page. If you don’t wish to pay the APC then you can take up the green open access option (available on all of our titles). 1. Choose the journal you wish to submit an article to. All journals offering the Open Select option will have the Open Select icon appearing on their journal homepage.
2. Find the Submit online or Instructions for authors link on the journal homepage under the Authors and submissions navigation tab.
3. Follow the submission instructions. Once accepted, you will receive an email offering you the option of making your article open access via the Open Select route. Please follow the instructions in that email.
4. The article publishing charge for an Open Select article is USD$2,950 (£1,788 / €2,150).
